Starbucks Coffee Company Data Engineer Lead in Seattle, Washington
Data Engineer Lead:
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Assist in the definition of solution architecture that ensures solutions are built within consistent framework.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge and skills to be an individual contributor and lead others in the data engineering team to build and support batch, real time big data pipelines and technology capabilities on Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
- Support Data science/ Analytical workloads in data preparation, feature extraction by reshaping, wrangling and blending enterprise data sets and Adhoc data sets into data assets that support exploratory data science.
- Validate data sets. Perform the required data validation.
- Lead the resolution activities for complex data issues.
- Define & implement data governance policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain documentation relating to all assigned systems and projects.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines for data engineering and ETL processes.
- Work in an agile environment. Develop and drive multiple cross-departmental projects. Establish effective working relationships across disparate departments to deliver business results.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40% per week.
Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $195,687 - $217,500 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, plus 6 years of experience in data engineering or related role; or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, plus 8 years of experience (of which 5 years must be post-bachelor's and progressive experience) in data engineering or related role.
Must have 5 years of experience in architecting and designing large scale high performance distributed systems.
Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: SQL Platform, Hadoop, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, and Spark.
Must have 3 years of experience in debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, or relevant tooling.
Must have 3 years of experience in logging and monitoring tools, patterns and implementation, enterprise security, and best practices in enterprise deployments.
Must have 3 years of experience in CI/CD.
Must have 3 years of experience in data platform implementation on Azure or AWS.
Must have 3 years of experience in data orchestration tools and platforms.
Must have 3 years of experience in using scripting languages.
Must have 3 years of experience in defining and implementing data governance policies and procedures.
