We are looking for a motivated individual with strong technical / analytical skills and practical experience to join the AWS Industry Products (AIP) team as a Data Engineer. We’re looking for someone who has a solid data engineering background, established the data infrastructure needed for business intelligence, a strong ability to dive deep into extensive data sets, business acumen, a proven ability to deal with ambiguity, and the desire to impact crucial portfolio-level strategic decisions through data-driven analysis and insights.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a pathfinder able to create and drive results from scratch. In this role, you will:

• Work closely with product managers, industry leaders, and the strategy team developing BI/analytics solutions that measure the performance and controllable inputs of new and existing products.

• Identify new opportunities to use data for the improvement of products and product P&Ls.

• Own and drive ad-hoc, deep-dive investigations into how data can guide existing and future customer + product journeys.

• Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure, pipelines, metrics, reports, and dashboards that drive department-wide business decisions.

• Create new leadership dashboards, then test, deploy, and train users on their capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience

• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
