Our Games Finance Analytics team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team in Seattle. This is your opportunity to be a core part of the team that has direct impact on affecting the long-term roadmap of Amazon Games. As a Data Engineer, you will partner with finance and business teams to design, develop, expand and optimize our data solutions. You will develop and support analytic capabilities to give flexible and structured access to data that is timely, accurate and actionable. The successful candidate will have deep subject matter expertise on optimizing data storage, processing structured and semi-structured data streams to build self-service business intelligence infrastructure for analysts and business teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure and data pipelines for Games Finances

  • Build, maintain and optimize scalable self-service solutions that empower stakeholders to address their data needs.

  • Interface with internal and external teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources

  • Assist finance and business stakeholders in creating business requirement documents to drive projects, working backward from customer needs.

  • Implement standardized, automated operational and quality control processes for complex datasets to deliver accurate and timely data and reporting to meet or exceed SLAs

  • Communicate timely information to all stakeholders on current and future initiatives, prioritizing based on the organization’s needs

  • Explore and adapt latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of data engineering experience

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)

  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

  • Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
