For more information, please visit Summary*Position can be located anywhere US*We are looking for a Data Analyst to focus on improving the availability and quality of data that is made available throughout the organization through the enterprise data catalog. In this role, you will expand your knowledge of the data assets available within the organization and act as the subject matter expert on the data and its utility for operational use. The primary responsibility will include making this knowledge available to others within First American through the data catalog. The individual will partner closely with engineers, DBAs, data scientists, data custodians, stewards, and business stakeholders, to get a better understanding of the data.Success in this role means:You are a team player comfortable with uncertainty, change, and figuring things out as they comeYou have an analytical mindset with the ability to process data and draw insightful conclusions from dataYou comfortable with new technologies and are willing to figure out how to make them workYou are comfortable working directly with customers to understand their problems or questionsYou are adept at working with data engineering team to solve customer needsYou have excellent communication skillsYou and others consider you a detail-oriented individualResponsibilities:Acquire intimate knowledge of the data and information available in various systems within the organizationWork with data stewards, technical teams, and business stakeholders to understand and capture important contextual data about our data assetsWork to identify missing and correct inaccurate data from our data catalogSupport ad-hoc requests related to data assetsHelp identify and expand rules used to identify semantic data typesAssure our data assets are secure and adhere to the policyIdentify data quality challenges and make appropriate changes or recommendationsDemonstrate and share findings to non-technical or senior executive individualsUnderstand algorithms of moderate complexityGather and analyze information to make decisions about our data assets and its quality or useRequirementsBachelor's in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Information System or related work experience3-5 years of data analysis experience2 + years of experience performing data quality reviews and analysisExperience inventorying or cataloging data assetsExperience working on Enterprise Data CatalogsExperience performing data quality reviews and analysisAdvance knowledge in SQL with the ability to write complex queriesMust be intellectually curious and motivated to learn continuallyExpertise in data visualization toolsKnowledge and experience working with statistical models a plusExperience working with Python or Java code a plusExperience modeling data a plusTalend knowledge and/or experience a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skills#techreferralBased on eligibility, First American offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision,
