UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a Data Analyst 2 position.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fully-benefited, temporary position expected to last 12 months. WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE – 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

  • Maintaining intermediate to advanced level knowledge of clinical application and database tools, adapting and extending existing and new interface systems to support the intermediate to advanced level end-user query capabilities

  • Supporting medical investigators with training and access to data services

  • Consulting with researchers to define, design, and execute the delivery of intermediate to advanced level data sets

  • Analyzing, coding, and testing intermediate to advanced level database and software components to support successful delivery of data for consultation REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 3+ years of experience to include:

  • 3+ year(s) of experience with end user support in an IT domain

  • 2+ year(s) of research experience, preferably in the clinical domain

  • Strong database programming experience, including complex query optimization and performance tuning

  • Extensive experience with formal software engineering practices (e.g. source code version control, validation, deployment, maintaining Microsoft-based applications, etc.)

  • Strong object-oriented programming skills using an integrated development environment like Visual Studio .NET

  • Extensive experience with requirements gathering and analysis, including direct work with end users or customers

  • Strong understanding of database design
