UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a CTMS APPLICATIONS ANALYST 1 position. (CTMS: OnCore Clinical Trials Management System.)

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE – 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Providing standard to intermediate level production support and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training.

  • Supporting research needs and cross-over with CTMS.

  • Developing standard to intermediate level report in support of customer requirements.

  • Building, developing, and supporting standard to intermediate level interfaces/bridges/billing.

  • Interacting with customers and performing a detailed requirements analysis and analyzing customer business and technical requirements and issues, recommending standard to intermediate level solutions.

  • Participating in standard to intermediate level projects, processes, and documentation to support customer needs.

  • Supporting analysis of standard to intermediate level work process flows and technical solutions to bridge the gap between current and future states.

  • Designing, building, testing, and implementing standard to intermediate level enhancements to meet functional requirements.

  • Collaborating with other application teams (clinical and non-clinical) on research related build. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children’s University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (a partnership between UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children’s). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You provide standard to intermediate level maintenance of system and application in production, test, and training environments.

  • You perform standard to intermediate level analysis and troubleshooting for application issues to meet established Service Level Agreements, working with user groups to provide diagnostic assistance, resolution to questions, and problem direction.

  • You evaluate and implement standard to intermediate level management requests for information to generate reporting requirements.

  • You develop new, and maintain existing, application reports, updating reporting criteria as necessary with applicable application changes.

  • You create and maintain a service-oriented relationship with customers at all levels of the organization.

  • You ensure service requests are completed in a timely manner to the satisfaction of customers. This responsibility requires coordination with all resources needed to accomplish the request either directly or through delegation.

  • You obtain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the OnCore clinical trials management system application in order to provide standard to intermediate level analysis, design, build/configuration, validation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance for all tools and system functionality.

  • You collaborate with Project Managers, Managers, and Directors to support standard to intermediate level projects through production readiness and promotion to production.

  • You test standard to intermediate level scenarios conforming to quality standards at the component/feature level. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 2+ year(s) of recent healthcare or IT experience, including:

  • 1+ year experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications).

  • Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server database programming.

  • Foundational experience working with multiple APIs.

  • Foundational experience juggling multiple system instances/environments (i.e. test, training, development, and production).

  • Foundational experience participating in defining customer requirements, translating them into design specifications.

  • Foundational experience assisting team members and sharing knowledge, with exposure to mentoring others.

  • Familiarity with database structures, data definitions, and data relationships.

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle.

  • Recent experience with formal project management methods.

  • Recent experience significantly contributing to multidisciplinary work groups in an application development or support setting.

  • Foundational experience independently outlining work plans and meeting deadlines.

  • Foundational experience executing test plans and test cases.

  • Foundational experience supporting small scale enterprise customers, both internal and external.

  • Foundational experience walking clients through the use of systems, preferably in a healthcare environment.

  • Basic understanding of enterprise change control processes. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is an Information Technology deadline-driven work environment.

  • The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in either an office environment or by telecommuting with manager approval, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.

  • Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.

  • Must work within the constraints of multiple technical environments.

  • The individual in this position must learn many organizational structures and cultures and continually foster collaboration.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
