Job Title: Cook

Job Description

Prepare menu items including proteins, vegetables, fruits, starches, and sauces according to recipes and specifications. Review recipes and consult with the unit’s designated culinarian to confirm production goals and service needs. Seek prior approval before deviating from assigned recipes and specifications. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues. Provide direction to Food Service Workers and student staff as needed. Monitor prepared foods to ensure proper holding temperatures and handling are in compliance with Washington State health code regulations. Disposition all food that has been on display or held in the kitchen according to Washington State Health Code and dining policies. Ensure that all items in storage areas are properly labeled. Maintain records of foods produced and wasted. Ensure that security and safety requirements are met. Participate in cleaning the kitchen’s tables and equipment. Review par levels at the end of the shift to ensure that the station is properly stocked for the next day and submit orders through CBord. May perform additional data entry of daily production/waste records in CBord.
