Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
Coordinate with controls engineering, hardware engineering, and software engineering teams in the development, implementation, testing, and debugging of PLC code for a robotic automation system. This role includes developing automation programs using CodeSys, primarily in Structured Text programming language, integrating EtherCAT networked servo drives for multi-axis systems, and developing Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) applications utilizing CodeSys HMI features and Allen-Bradley PanelView. The position also involves developing Functional Safety PLC applications with Bosch Rexroth CtrlX Safety controllers.
Responsibilities
Develop automation programs using CodeSys, primarily in Structured Text programming language.
Support other IEC-3 standard programming languages for PLCs.
Perform integration of EtherCAT networked servo drives for synchronized motion execution of multi-axis systems with complex motion profiles using CodeSys.
Integrate machine I/O devices, including fieldbus devices (e.g., EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, IOLink, digital and analog) using CodeSys.
Develop Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) applications utilizing CodeSys HMI features and Allen-Bradley PanelView.
Develop Functional Safety PLC applications using Bosch Rexroth CtrlX Safety controllers integrated with Bosch Rexroth CtrlX servo drives.
Utilize industry best practices for PLC program development, such as variable definition, object-oriented programming, and identifying and avoiding race conditions.
Integrate and test PLC control systems with external traditional software applications via network interfaces using UDP and/or TCP communications or protocols.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in PLC programming and automation.
Experience with CodeSys and Structured Text programming language. Beckhoff would also be accepted.
Knowledge of EtherCAT networked servo drives and their integration.
Experience in troubleshooting robots.
Understanding of IEC-3 standard programming for PLCs.
Familiarity with Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) applications using CodeSys HMI features and Allen-Bradley PanelView.
Experience with Functional Safety PLC applications using Bosch Rexroth CtrlX Safety controllers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting on robots.
Understanding of EtherCAT technology.
Engineering experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00
