The Opportunity TThe Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full time _Program Specialist 5_ in the Consumer Protection Division, Consumer Resource Center. This position is located in Seattle, Washington. This position is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE). *Positions in King County are eligible for 5% assignment pay in addition to the salary listed above. This recruitment announcement may be used to fill multiple open positions for the same classification, in addition to the position(s) listed in this announcement. The Consumer Protection Division enforces consumer protection laws to help keep the Washington marketplace free of unfair and deceptive practices. It provides information and education to businesses and to the public on consumer rights and issues, and sends out alerts and press releases when consumers or businesses are targets of fraudulent or predatory activities. The Consumer Protection Division also administers the Washington State Lemon Law Program and the Manufactured Housing Dispute Resolution Program. Duties This position is one of two positions that supervise day-to-day delivery of services of the Consumer Protection Division, Consumer Resource Center (CRC). This position is responsible to: * Supervise and direct the day-to-day operations of the Consumer Resource Center and CRC staff * Assist in establishing and implementing policy and procedure documents * Monitor performance metrics * Communicate effectively with other CP Division program supervisors to coordinate service delivery * Supervise program specialist staff providing CRC services to the public. * Ensure approved form letters are used in providing program services * Handle escalated calls, complaints, and constituent correspondence related to all CRC Program services * Effectively communicate with agitated or escalated customers and the public in an effort to de-escalate and resolve issues * Ensure quality and accurate work and work product in overseeing delivery of services and in providing services. * Provide excellent customer service. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience supervising a program or working in a call center, customer service center, or customer complaint department, plus supervisory experience.
