Consumer Device Engineer BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Consumer Device Engineer for a ONSITE opportunity. Position Title: Consumer Device Engineer Location: Seattle, WA Anticipated Start Date: [Aug 5th , 2024] Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 12+ months Job Type: Contract - [FULL TIME (40 Hours a week)] Pay Range: $70/hr-$75/hr Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Client RL team is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industry, as well as Personal Communication and Social Connections via our game-changing Portal products. As a Color, Material, and Finish Designer on the RL Industrial Design team, you bring extensive knowledge of industry trends, forecasting, color development and management, and have the technical knowledge to translate a creative vision into production-ready materials and processes. You have a record of shipping successful products in the Consumer Electronics, Wearable Technology, Fashion, or Eyewear industries and are comfortable working collaboratively with cross-discipline teams and manufacturing partners. Your insights, creative input, and development efforts will help guide the unique style and distinctive look of our brand.? * Interface with industry to research and develop proprietary and innovative hardware styles, construction details, material combinations, new production techniques, etc.? * Assist in the continual gathering and sharing of trends in consumer electronics, eyewear and fashion markets? * Create fully resolved CMF strategy for presentation to team members, partners and manufactures. ? * Assist in the resolution of design, prototyping and manufacturing issues during the development phase; create fully resolved solutions to communicate and resolve manufacturing and prototyping challenges? * Manage and maintain CMF product specifications for products in development from concept to production ? Job Specifications * Bachelors of Industrial Design from an accredited college or university, or relevant professional experience required? * 5+ years' experience working as a CMF Designer/Developer? * Proficiency in communicating design vision, and concepts using 2D color renderings and 2D CAD?. 3D CAD and visualization experience is a plus * Excellent organization skills, detail oriented, and has the ability to multitask? across different projects and categories * Working knowledge of plastic injection molding, metal fabrication techniques, resin development, coating technologies, plastics decoration processes, fabrics and textiles * Occasional domestic and international travel is a requirement for this position * Comments for Suppliers: Please provide the candidate's Linked In and Portfolio with each submission Benefits: BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.
