KPFF Consulting Engineers Construction Project Management Internship - 2910 in Seattle, Washington

About the Role: The Special Projects Division of KPFF is growing and looking for an ambitious and initiative-driven Construction Management, Project Management, Architectural or Engineering student for a summer internship in the Seattle Office of our Special Projects Group. The Construction Project Management Summer Internship being offered is approximately 40 hours a week for up to 90 days depending on the candidate's availability. Job responsibilities will vary depending on the project and individual intern. Our work leans toward civil, design-build transportation, structural, industrial and waterfront infrastructure throughout the US with a focus on the West Coast and Pacific Northwest regions. We frequently function as prime consultants and are tasked with solving unusual, multi-discipline challenges that require an innovative and team-oriented approach. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist with Construction Project Management tasks in the office and in the field.
  • Perform office duties such as construction administration, assisting with reports, contract document management, cost estimating, scheduling, coordination of sub-consultant teams, coordination of testing and inspection resources.
  • Assist with project site visits. The applicant may be required to navigate through a jobsite and must comply with all Company and Site safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Computer proficiency is required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using Bluebeam Revu.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Expectation to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate self-motivation and dependability.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

Example of Projects:

  • Container terminal design and construction support.
  • Airport terminals and tenant improvements including infrastructure upgrades.
  • Trails and public facility improvements.
  • Roadway upgrades and utility installations.
  • Transit Facilities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
  • Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
