Amazon Compliance Specialist, RISC Legal in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are seeking a new team member to contribute to Amazon's product safety and compliance legal program, to maximize lawful selection and customer trust while minimizing unlawful selection, product risk and potential harm to customers.

We are looking for someone who can navigate complex product regulations and develop and implement related compliance actions. This position requires partnering business and operations teams on proposed actions, and coordinating across multiple teams using technology, to implement processes and policies to effectuate those actions.

There is also a significant project management component to this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Monitoring product regulatory developments in the U.S., particularly for those matters that the Department of Energy, Federal Communications Commission, Fish & Wildlife Service, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the US Coast Guard all oversee.

  • Recommending implementation of compliance controls

  • Regulatory Engagement and Communications Management

  • Coordinating efforts with business and operational teams

  • Setting compliance strategies for long-term initiatives

  • Engaging with selling partners and helping them improve their product compliance

  • Engaging with trade groups and industry organizations

  • Driving process simplification projects

A day in the life

As a Compliance Specialist on the RISC Legal team, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and implementing product regulatory compliance controls that impact the products sold in Amazon's online stores in the US and Canada.

About the team

RISC Legal's mission is to maximize customer trust and lawful product selection while minimizing unlawful selection, product regulatory risk to Amazon, and negative value actions on customer trust.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of risk management, including experience with legal, government agencies, regulatory policy, and/or risk analysis

  • Prior experience with project management and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data driven decision making experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong organizational skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $163,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
