Amazon Compliance Analyst, AWS Risk & Regulatory Compliance in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a product Compliance Analyst to drive compliance solutions and strategic projects in support of AWS Infrastructure. As a Compliance Analyst in a fast-paced environment, you will leverage your product compliance knowledge to support day-to-day compliance operations, relying on your judgement and expertise to deliver the right results for the business. You will also focus on scaling compliance programs by identifying opportunities to invent, simplify, and automate compliance processes.

This position will report to the Manager, Regulatory Compliance Assurance & Planning team in the Global Trade and Product Compliance ('GTPC') function. GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support AWS services are imported and exported in a compliant manner across countries where AWS currently operates and/or will expand.

The Compliance Analyst within the Global Trade and Product Compliance (GTPC) team is responsible for executing product compliance operations, including classifying AWS’s unique hardware, devices, and equipment, as well as identifying compliance requirements and related artifacts globally. The Compliance Analyst is the first point of contact for downstream teams, and must be able to respond to product compliance questions quickly and accurately while relying on their industry knowledge and leveraging the tools available to them.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build and implement systems and process to align AWS products and equipment to regulatory requirements.

  • Translate regulatory intelligence to business operations.

  • Drive and scale infrastructure product compliance programs and tools; identify and recommend opportunities for simplification and automation.

  • Daily use of custom software, maximizing it’s utility through an in-depth understanding of system interdependencies and how to work across various tools successfully.

  • Manage compliance operations, such as intaking and analyzing product compliance issues, managing product compliance escalations, and making quick, high-judgement decisions.

  • Procure, analyze, and report on operational metrics according to the rhythm of the business.

  • Develop and oversee change management and continuous process improvement

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in supply chain, marketing, or operation

  • 3+ years of direct experience with program / project management, including technical delivery

  • 3+ years of direct experience with import/export/product compliance, global logistics or supply chain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic data analysis skills utilizing common software such as Smartsheets, Agile, Quicksight dashboards

  • 3+ years’ experience implementing and leveraging technology / data to drive process improvements and automation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
