MOFFATT & NICHOL Coastal Engineer - Mid Level in Seattle, Washington

We are actively looking for a Mid Level Coastal Engineer to join our Seattle office. As part of the Coastal Group, the Coastal Engineer plans and designs for urban waterfront, resiliency and coastal protection projects, including marinas, marine terminals, urban waterfront developments and waterfront park facilities; ecosystem restoration, dredging, shore protection structures, and flood walls. Duties and responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Prepare engineering design for permitting and construction by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and met-ocean, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data Develops construction specifications, plans, construction costs and schedules to produce engineering documents Knowledge of best available science for sea level rise, climate change and environmental hazard resiliency planning and mitigation work Researches and assists in complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions Successfully support ongoing Coastal / Water practice through contacts and business development efforts working with State, Federal (US Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA), Local coastal governmental agencies, as well as private sector clients Implementing scientific and regulatory tasks for projects to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and policies, including NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and Clean Water Act Participate in and help lead meetings with clients, engineers, scientists, and regulatory agency staff to develop project designs and regulatory compliance documents Assist with stakeholder engagement including developing meeting agendas, presentations, and notes Participate in business development activities Assist with project and budget management Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
