WORK SCHEDULE 100% FTE (40 hours a week) Day Shift

• Three different shifts support the unit from 06:00-20:30 (8-hour shifts). The available shift is Mon-Fri, 12:00pm-8:30pm with occasional flexibility to work earlier shifts if requested. • Closed on weekends, nights, and holidays.

UW Medical Center, Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) in our CARDIAC PROCEDURE UNIT (CPU). In our 14-bed prep/recovery unit (the CPU), CNAs provide direct patient care support to patients being admitted and recovered for procedures in the CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION, ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY and INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY departments. This includes accurately performing all duties that support patient and family care within the scope of license and as assigned by the registered nurse. The CPU CNA will observe, document and report changes in patient status as identified during care. The CNA will also set up equipment/supplies and assist in preparing patients for procedures and support procedural prep and recovery. Unit specific training provided during onboarding.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Patient care consistent with nursing unit standards and procedures Plan and schedule assigned patient care activities to maximize efficiency and quality of care Provide functional assistance to patients including dressing, undressing, toileting, eating, bathing, oral care, and hygiene, and supports plan for nutrition and hydration Answer patient call lights promptly and respond appropriately to patient’s needs Patient observation, reporting, and recordkeeping related to patient care Support nursing staff with patient plan of care Lift, position, ambulate and transfer patients

REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Satisfactory completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program and certification. Active, valid Nursing Assistant-Certification (NA-C) in Washington State upon start date. American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers upon hire.

• One-year previous CNA experience preferred.
