Job Summary

Provides administrative and clinical supervision of direct service staff and interns for our Children’s Crisis Outreach Response System (CCORS) program. Participates actively on department and branch management teams. This position works occasional evenings and weekends and shares responsibility for the after-hours on-call rotation with other clinical supervisors. This position ensures a seamless system of high quality rapid response, assessment, intervention, and referral for King County children and families.

This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.


  1. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches and evaluates assigned staff and volunteers. Organizes the panel hiring interview process when needed, in order to ensure a diverse and skilled staff team.

  2. Provides clinical and administrative supervision of assigned employees, interns and volunteers.

  3. Maintains qualifications as an LMHC or LICSW approved Clinical Supervisor.

  4. Helps implement the policies and procedures of the agency, including personnel, treatment services, and records.

  5. Prepares written Performance Appraisals annually for supervisees.

  6. Conducts regular individual supervision, weekly team Triage meetings and staff meetings for all clinical personnel to discuss matters pertaining to treatment issues, policies and procedures, case management, and staff relations.

  7. Assists the Clinical Director in updating of policies and procedures to meet contract requirements.

  8. Provides technical assistance and case consultation to staff by fielding calls and teaming on in-person outreaches during business hours and after hours.

  9. Monitors the clinical staff documentation and individual case records by periodically spot-checking case records from each staff and ensures timely documentation of services.

  10. Advises the management team on specific training needs of clinical staff members and recommends an appropriate course of action.

  1. Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university; and Licensed as a mental health counselor or social worker with two or more years’ experience providing community-based services to youth and families from a broad range of cultures and who have a wide variety of needs and a minimum of one year of experience supervising clinicians or interns. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.

  2. Fifteen hours of training in clinical supervision approved by the Department of Health and meets WAC requirements as an approved clinical supervisor.

  3. Understands and adheres to state and federal confidentiality regulations. Knowledgeable about relevant Washington Administrative Codes and RCW’s.

  4. Conducts self ethically and professionally at all times.

  5. Demonstrates the ability to coordinate and supervise direct service and support personnel; to deal effectively with courts, probation department, and other agencies and professionals; and to develop and supervise successful treatment programs for various types of individuals are essential. Managerial and organizational skills are required.

  6. Demonstrates strong decision making and communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  7. Knowledge and experience with evidence-based treatment models and other assessment tools.

  8. Holds the conviction that mental health is a treatable illness and recovery is possible.

  9. Intermediate proficiency with computers, competent with Microsoft Office software and case management/client tracking software and previous experience tracking and summarizing data into reports in a timely manner.

  10. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
