UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. This position will support the outpatient ambulatory clinic staff at our Montlake and Northwest medical center campuses.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Monday-Friday

• Daytime hours PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, develops, organizes, teaches, and evaluates staff education. This may include orientations, in-services, residencies, BLS/ACLS renewals, and continuing education programs

• Conducts specific classes and competency verifications

• Works with staff to identify opportunities for professional growth and implements educational strategies to support staff in transition

• Acts as an education resource to support quality patient care

• Collaborates with community agencies outside the medical center regarding professional nursing practice

• Promotes and supports a high functioning environment that fosters continuing learning and professional development

• Participates in clinical and organizational policy and procedure development

• Supports systems and processes to promote evidence-based practice

• Supports systems and processes to promote clinical education for students in nursing and allied health care programs

• Supports systems and processes to promote equity, diversity and inclusion

• Participates in the development of quality assessment and improvement programs REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred

• Active licensure to practice as a RN in Washington State

• BLS

• 4 years of RN work experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic

• 2 years of experience in education/teaching, including experience developing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating education programs

• Strong working knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles
