The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Coordinator Lead .
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week (Full-Time)

Eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program as a UW employee. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS In the supervisor's absence, this position functions as the Slide Room point person. Under general supervision, performs routine Slide Room duties of an administrative assistant 2 and 3 level, as well as creating guidelines, processes, and documentation. Routine tasks include storing and archiving pathology materials, filling requests for materials internally and from external providers and facilities, and communicating material retention, storage, and release protocols with department members and other departments/facilities. This position also functions as the EPIC Beaker super user for the slide room section and attends additional training and informational meetings as necessary. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of clinical or public health laboratory experienceOR
Equivalent education/experience. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer the telephone in a professional manner and direct calls as appropriate. Use Pathology software applications to accurately track materials for transport. Prepare paperwork and ensure accurate delivery of materials for clinical requests. (40%)
Act as the point person for all send-out-related requests. Process requests to send Pathology materials for testing or review in DLMP laboratories and outside institutions and laboratories. Triage incoming paperwork and packages in the Slide Room and scan electronically or route appropriately. Notify supervisor of problems and help supervisor with investigation and resolution. (20%)
In conjunction with the supervisor, develop documentation and process improvements for areas of responsibility. Coordinate, monitor, and review workflows for accuracy. (5%)
Participate in EPIC Beaker workflow reviews and assist with creation of new job aids and documentation related to Beaker functionality. (5%)
Provide appropriate training to current staff and new employees. (10%)
Perform other duties as assigned.
