This position is remote.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • 3 years’ experience in direct billing or client account work for a law or professional services organization

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel and accounting systems such as Aderant and/or Elite

  • Must have proficiency in ebilling applications such as Bill Blast or e-Billing Hub

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with billing timekeepers and business professionals

  • Must be team-oriented and have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be an accurate proofreader and have strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

  • Actively listens to positive and critical feedback

  • Ability to adapt to client needs

  • Eager to develop and achieve scope and requirements for advanced roles and responsibilities

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field

  • Billing experience in an international or global organization

What will your day look like?

As a Client Accounts Specialist, for our US clients, you will perform a variety of duties to support the full billing cycle to include reviewing and editing prebills, and seeking requisite approvals for deferrals, write-offs, and time transfers. You will field billing inquiries. You will also gather and submit accrual information based on client requirements. You’ll submit electronic bills based on client requirements and within SLA protocol. You will research and resolve electronic billing rejections, and initiate troubleshooting support and escalations. You will maintain an accurate description of all client billing requirements which may also include guidelines established by the client’s general counsel. You will update and track changes to the requirements as necessary. Prior to finalization, you’ll review client invoices for guideline adherence and gather disbursement backup, and ensure client requirements are met.

In this role, you will finalize invoices and submit them directly to the client (per policy) or provide them to attorneys for transmission to the client (per approved exceptions to policy), this includes other billing information as needed. You will track and resolve tickets assigned by the Accounting Service Desk on a daily basis. You will also meet SLAs and manage workflow through developing and utilizing best practices, prioritizing work duties effectively, and making practical use of all resources available to complete work. You’ll make practical use of all resources available to complete work within SLAs and seek assistance from the manager for development opportunities and escalation protocols.

Additionally, for global clients, you will manage straightforward, less complex, global client account assignments. You will act as liaises with internal support teams to develop learning and experience for taking on more complex global client assignments. You will also track and resolve tickets assigned by the Accounting Service Desk on a daily basis.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The expected pay range for this position, if hired to work in Palo Alto or San Francisco is $36.45 - $52.86 per hour. If hired to work in New York the expected pay range is $34.93 - $50.66. If hired to work in Los Angeles, San Diego, or Seattle the expected pay range is $33.41 - $48.46. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
