As part of a diverse and hardworking team of technicians, you will perform general duties involved in the chemical processing and precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of propulsion module, engine, and subassembly manufacturing. The Cleaning, Passivation, and Verification Lab is a critical part of the company's Integrated Supply Chain. A technician in this role will perform daily tasks including: Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods. Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment. Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and correct lab solvent/chemical systems. Use various methods to provide identifying features to hardware per technical documentation. Inspect hardware using visual, ultraviolet light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods. Package accepted hardware and supplies for storage or shipment. Perform shop level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc. Conduct general housekeeping of lab and certified clean room area. Follow safety regulations and wear protective eyewear, steel toe boots, and other applicable personal protective equipment. Our team is a direct supplier to all of Blue's Business Units, and executes for New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Moon, and the Blue Engines programs. The Kent, WA Cleaning, Passivation, and Verification team provides a crucial, integrated service that supplies all 4 of the Blue Origin operational sites. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications: Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals. Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues. Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware. Must possess a strong work ethic, prove ability to follow direction, and meet expectations. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems, databases and Microsoft OfficeSuite. Ability to support the following production work schedules: Shift C: Fri-Sun 5:00am-6:00pm Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Prior experience in precision cleaning of aerospace, medical or other precision components. Prior experience fabricating, maintaining, testing, operating or inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluids systems.
