Northwest Eye Surgeons Circulating LPN/MA - Seattle Northgate, Northwest Eye Surgeons in Seattle, Washington

Be part of an exciting and team-oriented, multi-specialty Ophthalmology practice! NWES provides a great work life balance with no weekends or holidays work. We are looking to fill for a Full Time, 40 Hrs per week Circulating Technician (LPN or MA) in our Seattle Northgate Ambulatory Surgery Center. Be a part of our surgery team providing quality patient care to our surgical patients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform pre- and post-operative patient calls

  • Gather medical records and record patients information necessary to complete health history

  • Admit and prepare patient for surgery including taking and recording vital signs; recognize when to escalate findings to Nurse

  • Document and communicate actions to maintain continuity among the nursing team

  • Circulate patient through surgery

  • Document in patient record and EHR

  • Comply with procedures, regulations, and rules in maintaining medical records

  • Discharge patient

  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments including discussing treatment plan with physicians and pharmacists

  • Take ocular measurements both anatomical and functional

  • Train and practice knowledge of asepsis, infection control and sterilization

  • Order supplies and maintain records

  • Abide by all company and compliance policies and procedures including HIPAA, OSHA/WISHA, Patient confidentiality, and insurance requirements.

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1 year of medical experience preferred

  • Current CPR/AED is mandatory

  • Knowledge of sterile technique as it applies to operating room preferred

  • Safe positioning of patients when required

  • Proper method of handling instruments, tissue specimens, cultures, and smears before, during and after use

  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the team before such needs arise

  • Ability to adapt to various types of personalities

  • Demonstrate high degree of collaboration, negotiation, motivational and conflict resolution skills

  • Demonstrate excellence in communication skills- demonstrated ability to convey ideas and information, verbally and in writing

  • Able and willing to achieve goals with tenacity, compassion

  • Exhibit initiative and the ability to work independently when necessary and perform as part of the larger team, in a fast paced environment

  • Willingness to travel between ASC’s on occasion
