Providence Child Development Teacher in Seattle, Washington

Description

This position is responsible for the overall care of children in the Intergenerational Learning Center.

This includes the planning and implementation of age appropriate programs, development of interesting, stimulating and challenging indoor and outdoor environments, and planning appropriate daily activities. This role is also responsible for developing an intergenerational program and nurturing interaction between elders and children. Included in these responsibilities are maintaining the classroom, preparing materials for the children and certain clerical and record-keeping duties.

The position may work with Associate Teachers, providing mentoring and leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • STARs Basic Child Care Center Certificate or equivalent as determined by program manager within 30 days of hire.

  • Registered in Washington STARS Registry for early childhood personnel upon hire.

  • Apply for a Portable Background Check through the WA State DCYF MERIT system prior to first day of work upon hire.

  • Two (2) years experience working with children ages birth to 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Completion of CDA or at least 12 ECE related credits as determined by program manager, Or

  • Associate's Degree: AA in ECE or Child Development or an AA in another field with at least 12 ECE related credits as determined by the program manager, Or

  • Bachelor's Degree: BA in ECE or Child Development or BA in another field with at least 12 ECE related credits as determined by the program manager.

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life.
