Amazon Corporate LLC Business Intelligence Engineer in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to help invent the future of everyday grocery shopping with Amazon. Our team enables shopping in everyday life by making it easy for customers. Our team is highly data driven and our success depends on our ability to use data to understand our customers and create actionable insight from customer interaction data. This role can be based in Seattle, WA, Irvine, CA or San Diego, CAThe BI Engineer will play a strategic role in the organization leading the development of analytical systems and practices for a new organization. This person will have strong business acumen and partner with product leaders to understand business data needs and dive deep to make sense of this data. This person will also have strong technical skills and act as architectural leader by partnering with software and data engineering teams to define the end-to-end reporting architecture. They will also work hands on to develop reports and dashboards within Tableau and other data systems.As a BIE in the Physical Stores team you will focus on exciting and challenging problems, including:* Work on new and ambiguous business problems which have not yet been solved before and which offer the chance to innovate and apply novel approaches to tackle these problems at their root while stepping back to understand the broader context.* Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will shape the future of online grocery shopping.* Report key insight trends, using statistical rigor to simplify and inform the larger team of noteworthy story lines that impact the business.* Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, and which to use.* Build automated data solutions and dashboards to enable your team to self-service 80% of data needs, allowing you to focus on answering hard and ambiguous problems.* Scope, build and own technical data warehouse processes to help the business scale.* Collaborate with software engineering, product management, marketing and UX as a leader of quantitative analysis and where you develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.Basic Qualifications* * 5+ years of years of relevant work experience in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or related field. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or a related discipline. * Highly proficient in SQL, report, and dashboard development using a data visualization product (Tableau, Looker, Amazon QuickSight, etc.)Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
