Payment Business Operations (PBO) Business Intelligence (BI) Team is the centralized analytics and reporting team within Payment Acceptance and Experience (PAE) PBO.

We play a critical role in driving data driven decision-making, improving operational efficiency and supporting strategic objectives of the organization. We design and maintain robust data warehouse architecture to enable effective analysis and reporting. We collaborate with business leaders to understand business strategic goals and leverage data analysis tools to uncover valuable insights and trends from data. Our aim is to democratize data for everyone, irrespective of their technical background.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL processes to extract data from various sources.

• Transform and cleanse data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity. Load the processed data into data warehouses for analytical purposes.

• Develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations.

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in reports and dashboards.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into effective visualizations.

• Monitor and optimize the performance of BI systems and data warehouses.

• Identify opportunities and key criteria to drive analytical reporting and business strategy.

• Partner with Data Engineering to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights.

• Learn new technology and techniques to meaningfully support product and process innovation

A day in the life

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to be part of our growing team. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data analytics and reporting solutions. You will be working with large datasets, extracting trends, patterns and insights by performing data analysis and mining. You will develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards ensuring accuracy and completeness with respect to customer's reporting requirements. You will be responsible for establishing data governance and efficiencies by ensuring high quality standards and performance optimizations.

This role requires excellent communication and organization skills including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams from various domains like Business, Accounting, Finance and Engineering. You should be able to communicate complex technical concepts and data insights effectively to non-technical audiences. You will be analytical and data driven in decision making with a demonstrated ability to drive issues to completion.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
