The Amazon Kids+ team is looking for a passionate and solution oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to run analytical solutions that deepen our collective understanding of customers, influence innovation, and deliver actionable insights. The ideal candidate has outstanding business acumen, a restlessness to answer “why?” questions, excellent technical skills, strong analytical abilities, superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail), and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. He/she will work closely with product managers, marketing, and finance to help drive business results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build scalable solutions/self-serve platforms that will provide data/KPIs to inform business decision making

  • Investigate data sources across Amazon and expand existing device data infrastructure

  • Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the device customer engagement, sales and marketing roadmap.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer behavior, competitive product trends, and business drivers to inform decision making

  • Analyze key insight trends and build models that predict customer behavior, using statistical rigor to simplify and provide thought leadership to device product and marketing groups

  • Collaborate with finance and product management as a leader of ongoing analytical support

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts

  • Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in sciences, engineering, finance or equivalent

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced, multi-dimensional visualization tooling (e.g. D3.js)

  • Metrics design

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
