We own durable product categories, from household goods and musical instruments to camping and sporting goods, automotive, consumer electronics, toys and more. The Business Intelligence team focuses on reporting, analysis, and facilitating high bandwidth conversations across teams and stakeholders. We own Business Intelligence & Analytics for the organization and strive to provide deep insights to drive action and success for the entire organization. We are looking for candidates with a passion for data, analytics, insights and technology and who can a have broad impact across one of the biggest e-commerce businesses in the world.

Specific responsibilities include: - Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions

  • Engage closely with retail business users including Vendor Managers, Instock Managers and Marketing Managers.

  • Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues.

  • Help define requirements for reporting retail metrics, and translate those requirements into effective data visualizations and analytical solutions

  • Derive insights from business questions and retail data and provide input to drive business growth

  • Be responsive to the needs of consumers of the BI data and tool

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

  • Experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
