Amazon Business Analyst, Shared Services, SPS Finance in Seattle, Washington

Description

Our mission in Selling Partner Services (SPS) Finance at Amazon is to provide complete and accurate data for financial and business reporting and analytics. As such, we designs, builds, maintains and enhances scalable systems that provide accurate data as well as actionable insights to the business.

As a Business Analyst in SPS Finance, you will be responsible for working with terabytes of data to develop automated and self service scalable solutions for Finance and Business Partners. You will be responsible for building a robust set of operational, financial and business metrics,requirements documentation and will utilize metrics to determine improvement opportunities.

From Day 1, you will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from creating datasets, reports, dashboards to metadata modeling, pipeline monitoring. You will interact with our internal Program, Finance, Operations and Business teams, and technical teams to gather requirements, structure data solutions, and gain a deep understanding of key datasets. You will design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions and promote industry standard best practices. You will be responsible to tune query performance against large and complex data sets. You will help translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement.

Key job responsibilities

  • Gather business requirements, document specifications, identify appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities, and develop the milestones and launch schedule to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project

  • Design and develop highly available dashboards and metrics in Quicksight, our business analytics platform

  • Perform business analysis and data queries using SQL, R etc

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 1+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience with SQL or ETL

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using very large datasets

  • Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages

  • Experience with financial or business analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
