Description

Join Amazon's Benefits Technology team and help make a difference for all Amazonians! We are currently looking for a Business Analyst to develop and drive actionable insights through sustainable analytical solutions. We need an analyst who is passionate about the Customer Experience, who thinks and acts globally, and who has the ability to contribute major innovations to join our Analytics team supporting Global Benefits. For example, our team is exploring opportunities to integrate GenAI to our datasets to automate insights to our stakeholders.

This role will be responsible for answering questions about the state of our business, generating new insights to help guide the strategic direction of Global Benefit. Your contributions include building new metrics, and reports for all levels of our organization, coordinating the integration of new data sources into our data platforms, and ensuring data cleanliness and accuracy. You will act as the primary point of contact for metrics, analysis, and visualization.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously

  • Advocate for working backwards from the customer

  • Manage work across multiple clients through rigorous prioritization against organizational goals and properly design solutions to realize benefits from data automation while maintaining high standards.

  • Ensure customer requirements are well documented and lead discussions with technical teams to ensure product architectural design meets needs.

A day in the life

As part of BXT-Tech, we work with PMT, TPMs, SDMs, DEs, and BIEs to design and deliver analytical solutions. Our customers span across across multiple business areas and programs, so expect our scope to be the same. This can include working with business customers requiring reporting tools or metrics to track the health of their programs across: Employee Benefits Awareness, Financial Benefits, Health & Wellness, Employee Assistance, Communications, or Contact Centers. The Business Analyst coordinates with PMTs, to help design and develop new reporting solutions and working with SDEs and BIEs to help integrate the data they need.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience

  • 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience with Excel

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (engineering, economics, math, statistics) or at least 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Working knowledge of SQL (T-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, HiveQL, etc.) and experience analyzing complex data sets.

  • Working knowledge of Tableau, Microstrategy, QuickSight or equivalent data visualization solutions

  • Experience developing new metrics for business stakeholders

  • Experience interacting with Business Intelligence and Data Engineers to coordinate integration of new datasets for reporting purposes

  • Working knowledge of Amazon Redshift and Athena to analyze data in platforms and S3

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfort/experience communicating and influencing across job levels with internal partners.

  • Experience in QuickSight Machine Learning (ML) features related to insights and visualizations

  • Experience in Data Propagation tools & framework such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Python

  • Experience in Amazon Management Console to facilitate reporting such as CloudWatch

  • Experience applying statistical methods to solve business problems.

  • Experience building and analyzing models using various statistical tools for forecasting and optimization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
