About the Position

We are seeking a candidate who is a strong leader, and professional communicator, who will carry out company policies and values, and be willing to work in team settings to deliver complex construction projects.

This position will oversee the total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed following design, safety, budget, and schedule while meeting contractual requirements. The Superintendent is responsible for all fieldwork required for the project and understands safety is of the utmost importance to IMCO. The Superintendent is the primary line of defense in planning and assuring worker’s safety. Leads the Assistant Super, Foreman, and safety personnel including mentoring, training, and coaching.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience in both public and private sectors. This person will be required to adhere to company policies and values and thrive working in a team setting.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: $130,000 – $170,000 anticipated annual salary. Based on experience.

    Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision of all craft workers, managing safety, quality, productivity, and project schedule requirements.

  • Provide supervision and mentorship for Assistant Superintendents, General Foreman, and Foreman to provide advancement opportunities and new challenges for subordinate career growth.

  • Assist in developing project baseline schedules and regular updates in coordination with the Field/Project Engineer(s).

  • Drive the project schedule in the field and coordinate with IMCO craft to ensure the schedule is achieved.

  • Interface with field supervision at all levels for Subcontractors working on the project, including ensuring strict adherence to IMCO’s safety program and culture as well as schedule requirements.

  • Lead weekly mass safety meetings, daily toolbox talks, and JHA reviews throughout the shift when conditions or tasks change.

  • Develop and maintain craft, material, and equipment requirement schedules to ensure efficient and effective field operations.

  • Attend daily/weekly meetings as required by the project for cost and production tracking and analysis.

  • Attend Owner meetings as required by the project/project team.

  • Provide informal and formal feedback and reporting for craft evaluations.

  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or company security operations for the protection of people and property.

    Location & Commitments

  • Project Location – Greater Seattle area - Western Washington

  • Work location may vary and flexibility to travel throughout Western WA for work is highly preferred.

  • Work time/shift may vary by project or client, night shift work may be required for this position.

    Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years managing field operations including self-performed heavy structures as a Project Superintendent.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead craft teams.

  • DOT or Transit structures work experience.

  • HCSS HeavyJob experience for time and quantity tracking.

  • Strong background in forming and shoring including material selection.

  • Strong background in all aspects of bridge construction including:

  • Driven pile foundations

  • Work trestles

  • PS Concrete and Steel Girder structures

  • Deck placing and finishing equipment erection

  • Strong understanding of crane work as well as WA State crane rules/regulations.

  • Current and valid driver’s license, free of any major violations.

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Pre-employment drug testing required.

  • Criminal background check required.

  • Adhere to all safety requirements.

  • Commitment to teamwork, safe work practices, and integrity .

    Preferred Qualifications

  • WSDOT bridge experience

  • HCSS HeavyBid for direct cost estimating

  • Alternate Delivery experience (D/B, GC/CM, etc.)

  • Movable bridge experience
