Starbucks Coffee Company brand manager I, North American Coffee Partnership Innovation in Seattle, Washington

Now Brewing – Brand Leaders! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and its rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing and supporting partners who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

The Global Channel Development team leads marketing and innovation on Starbucks products delivered in channels outside of our retail cafes. We do this through thoughtful partnerships with some of the world’s leading food and beverage companies. This is an exciting opportunity to work on our North American Coffee Partnership (NACP), our 25+ year partnership with Pepsi that has brought Frappuccino, Cold Brew, Nitro (and many more) to life in a ready-to-drink format.

In this role, you will help propel our powerhouse $2B+ business into the future by bringing the next generation of RTD beverage innovation to life. You will be integral in determining the future of established brands (such as Frappuccino, Doubleshot and Cold Brew), bringing beloved Starbucks café beverages to life in RTD, and developing and launching totally new-to-the-world innovation. Working in this well-established joint venture, you will benefit from the PepsiCo team’s deep consumer knowledge and go-to-market expertise while you also leverage Starbucks brand equity and history of coffee and beverage quality.

We are looking for a passionate and consumer-centric brand manager to join our innovation team, to drive the next 5-10 years of groundbreaking RTD innovation in and beyond the coffee aisle.

As an Innovation Brand Manager, you will…

  • Bring near-term innovation to market – You will be responsible for all facets of developing and launching new RTD products, including the briefing, development and implementation of consumer learning plans, packaging graphics, product formulation and much more

  • Support long-term innovation strategy – You will support the team in building the 5+ year pipeline, leveraging macrotrends and consumer and business insight to craft a strategy that will deliver against our strategic priorities today and tomorrow.

  • Support marketing and commercial objectives – You will work closely with our marketing and sales teams to craft the customer and consumer-facing messaging and influence the GTM strategy for our products

  • Leverage leadership and strategic thinking skills – You will influence and inspire across internal and external cross-functional partners across Starbucks and Pepsi.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Progressive experience in product innovation, brand management, marketing, retail, or strategy consulting (5-7 years).

  • Progressive experience leading large cross-functional projects - especially those with high levels of ambiguity - and gaining alignment with multiple levels of leaders.

  • Progressive experience building or collaborating on consumer learning plans

  • Ability to synthesize consumer and sales data to build strong, data-driven recommendations and strategies

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines (even in the face of shifting scope)

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to independently resolve issues or debates across multiple stakeholders (in most situations).

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • MBA preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience in a role supporting marketing, brand management or product management

  • 3 or more years of experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of US military experience in a related MOS/C.
