The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on development, manufacturing, and operation of satellite systems to address one of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space mobility. Our space systems must perform vehicle navigation considering multiple propulsion system types (chemical and electric propulsion), multiple measurement sources (GPS and radiometric), and diverse destination regimes (geostationary and cislunar space). As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will join our Astrodynamics and Trajectory Execution team as the Ground Navigation Lead. You will be responsible for leading the team in ground navigation operations as the key decision stakeholder for orbit determination and maneuver designs in early flights, and setting direction on navigation processes for future flights. You will be responsible for exemplifying best practices, balanced technical judgment, and superior work ethic in a time-constrained environment.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leadership support to the Astrodynamics and Trajectory Execution manager. Ability to grow into a functional leadership role. Act as the ground navigation team lead for Blue Ring Flight 1. Train others in the team for future Blue Ring flights. Responsible for the Blue Ring Flight 1 Nav Plan and accountable for Flight Operation procedures. Responsible for integration of Astrodynamics and Trajectory Execution capabilities into the Flight Dynamics System. Responsible for rehearsals and operational readiness testing related to ground navigation operations. Accountable for planning sprints and design cycles for the navigation team, including building a roadmap of new and long-term navigation capabilities in concert with the navigation architect. Accountable for the verification and validation of all navigation capabilities related to orbit determination and maneuver design. Thought leader for navigating multiple operational Blue Ring spacecraft during the growth of the product line. Perform detailed trade studies for the navigation performance of our vehicle under different operational assumptions. Perform Monte Carlo analysis of maneuver designs considering chemical and electric propulsion systems. Support the navigation process during live mission operations, performing orbital estimation, maneuver planning, and maneuver execution. Deliver results in accordance with Agile methodology of development. Present results and support gated reviews. Develop targeting and maneuver capabilities required for future flights. Minimum Qualifications M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,
