Help invent the future of luxury as a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) leading data and analytics across an emerging, complex business area.

Luxury Stores at Amazon is looking for an exceptional BIE who will help deliver the roadmap for Luxury Stores. The right candidate will thrive in ambiguous situations and love to build from the ground up. You will own metrics, dashboarding and measurement across our portfolio of products that will enable our program to scale quickly. You will use analytical and statistical rigor to answer complex problems via data analysis. Outputs from your analysis will directly help improve luxury business strategy, our portfolio of products (including our innovation roadmap), and help us achieve our goals. Learnings will be extensible to broader lifestyle categories.

The optimal candidate is an expert with business intelligence tools and passionately partners with cross-functional stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities where data-backed insights drive value creation. An effective communicator, the candidate translates analysis outputs into executive-facing business terms. The candidate works with internal and external teams to push projects across the finish line. The candidate is a self-starter, comfortable with providing structure to ambiguity, able to think big while having attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced and global team.

Key job responsibilities

· Own, design, develop, document, and manage scalable solutions for new and ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, visualizations, and dashboards to support business needs

· Dive deep to understand frameworks utilized for storing data and different tools and solutions used to gain access to it

· Use data mining, data modelling ,data warehousing, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business

· Design and drive experiments to form actionable recommendations. Present to business leaders in both ad-hoc forums and routine business reviews (MBR/QBR) to drive decisions

· Be able to swiftly prioritize and multi task based on severity level and strong business judgement.

· Measure and analyze existing offering for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to customers

· Identify new opportunities for Amazon to improve our luxury offering

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience writing complex SQL queries

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
