Benefits & Leave of Absence Specialist
[POSITION PURPOSE:]{.underline}
The key function of Benefits and Leave of Absence Specialist is to provide day-to-day administration of leave of absence, accommodations, and employee benefit and retirement programs. This position partners closely with the Total Rewards team to advance equity in CHPW's Total Rewards programs by increasing employee access and knowledge through ongoing communication and education campaigns.* *
[PRINCIPAL DUTIES:]{.underline}
Responsible for advocating, educating, maintaining, supporting and administering
- employee health and welfare and retirement benefit plans throughout the employee life cycle and actively participates in the planning, administering and auditing of benefit changes, compliance testing and annual open enrollment administration.
- all employees leave of absence programs and pay benefits such as short- and long-term disability, state paid leave, and worker's compensation at CHPW and coordinating with appropriate parties.
Act as accommodations navigator for all employee ADA accommodation requests collaborating with employee, manager, and HR Business Partner.
Responsible for creating and delivering leave of absence, accommodation, and employee benefit communication and education on the CHPW intranet site and utilizing internal communication tools to assist employees.
Development of leave of absence, accommodations management and compliance knowledge; stay current with changes in regulations and best practices, and continually update company policy, procedure, and guidelines.
Responsible for resolving enrollment and eligibility issues with vendors and employees.
Processes benefits billing invoice to include audits, reconciliation, and payment.
Writes, maintains, and supports a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools in HRIS and Leave of Absence Tracking Software for HR dashboard.
Provides technical support and training for end users; acts as liaison between end user and technical groups, including third party vendors and administrators.
