Amazon AWS Finance Manager, Central FP&A in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Finance Manager to lead employee cost planning and reporting on the Central Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role will be responsible for driving broad insights that can shape the AWS financial strategy and own the end-to-end planning of employee costs for the AWS Services organization. The successful candidate will build scalable analyses, key performance indicators, and insights that will be shared with AWS Business and Finance Leadership to inform decision making. This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization to align on critical inputs, ranges of outcomes, and drive our tech roadmap. Key job responsibilities

• Own employee cost planning for the AWS Services organization.

• Develop financial insights and narratives during all planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.

• Lead AWS-wide employee cost reporting.

• Manage and develop KPIs to identify risks and opportunities in the AWS OpEx plan.

• Partner with stakeholders across People Analytics, Accounting, and Operations teams to develop scalable planning and reporting solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
