We seek a leader who is world class at managing and influencing indirectly (without direct authority) and is “right a lot.” This individual must be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving and isn’t dissuaded when they hear “no.” Balancing effective negation skills while maintaining trust is a critical part of this job. Finally, as our deals are atypical, we require a leader who is comfortable defining goals that align to the right business outcomes, and is exceptionally comfortable driving the right outcomes with little guidance.

Key job responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Take the lead to identify, define, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships that can involve marketing, content, commerce, and technology components.

• Ability to assess commercial feasibility for our AWS business and create new deal constructs.

A day in the life

You'll engage with teams across Amazon and AWS daily, working to understand the emerging challenges and how we can jointly solve them. A normal day may include writing a strategy whitepaper, managing an ongoing partnership with c-suite executives, developing a new technical integration with building systems or a new logistics partnership, working with internal and external technical resources to define how an emerging technology may solve large joint challenges, or negotiating the key terms of a deal/partnership.
