Blue Origin LLC Avionics Harnessing Technician II (Day Shift) in Seattle, Washington

As part of a hardworking team of technicians, you will assemble, repair, and evaluate electrical harness assemblies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the production, evaluation, and development of Flight-grade Avionics Harnessing and electrical systems. Work in the Avionics Harness Lab requires a high level of proficiency in the technical aspects of the work such as measuring and layout, terminating a variety of electrical connections on mechanical assemblies, and performing various assembly soldering operations. Once complete you will perform a variety of verification testing to ensure we are producing the highest quality product. Other responsibilities include: Building a variety of different components and assemblies and often rapidly shifting focus from project to project, requiring a flexible mindset and adaptable skill set Often assisting with new designs; working directly with engineering to determine best practices and vet new designs for improvement opportunities before production Provide feedback on new assemblies, identify needed improvements to existing designs, and improve or update outdated designs Serve a variety of internal and external customers, across multiple systems and multiple platforms. A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to build high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind. Qualifications: Familiarity with fabricating, inspecting, and repairing wire harness assemblies. Prior experience with standard harnessing tools as well as measuring and layout of assembly. Experience with wire stripping, crimping, and splicing using both manual and automated processes. Experience with using testing/troubleshooting tools such as a digital multi-meter, milli-ohm meter, insulation tester, or Hi-Pot test equipment. At least 2 years' experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields. Attention to detail and passion for space. Familiarity with torquing procedures and sizing fasteners and hardware. Experience working with mechanical structures. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Familiarity with working with digital work order-based systems as well as reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and dimensional layout drawings. Able to lift 50 lbs. Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10's) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: 7 or more years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly, vehicle integration, testing, and processing. Experience in all types of solder termination and splicing.
