Blue Origin LLC Avionics FPGA Design Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a diverse and hardworking multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for all aspects of development, implementation, analysis, verification, and operation of FPGA-based solutions within New Glenn flight avionics. Additionally, you will play a key role in all aspects of system design, implementation, verification, integration, and operation.Together we will build best-in-class systems to serve as the central foundation for all communications to and from our New Glenn Orbital Launch Vehicle. Building on deep integration and collaboration between Software and FPGA we seek to provide throughput and processing capabilities well beyond those found in other launch systems.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related discipline with a digital design focus5+ years demonstrated FPGA/ASIC design and verification work experienceStrong mastery of Verilog/SystemVerilogExperience with advanced verification techniques: Assertion-Based Verification, Universal Verification Methodology, and/or Constrained Random VerificationExperience designing, developing, and verifying high-performance FPGA or ASIC solutions for use in highly integrated (SW and HW) systemsSelf-motivated and independent, yet collaborative, individual contributor with strong interpersonal team skills; organizational and communication skillsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:Familiarity with MPSoCs, especially those built using ARM IP and AXI technologiesDeep understanding of modern computer networking topics, including ethernet, layer 2 switching, and layer 3 routing.Experience with Modelsim, or Questasim simulators and Synopsys tools for design. vendors: Microchip, Xilinx, and/or AlteraBasic programming and scripting skills, especially C / C++ and Python and including Object Oriented ProgrammingFamiliarity with DO-254 and/or other development assurance guidelinesExposure to fault-tolerant, high-reliability, safety-critical, robust, radiation-tolerant FPGA-based solution development for space-based avionics systemsExport Control RegulationsApplicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the a refugee or granted asylum.Equal Employment OpportunityBlue Origin is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to attracting, retaining, and developing a highly qualified, diverse, and dedicated work force.
