As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will be in charge of engineering, designing, maintaining and coding electronic tools and macros that will support the electrical harnesses ecosystem for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the avionics overall strategy. As an Avionics Cable Harness Design Engineer (Software) you will be responsible for the design of electronic tools for visualization, automation and verification of the electrical harness designs. Also, you will lead the implementation of electronic tools and processes related to manufacturing automation, enhance reality and virtual reality. You will coordinate the integration and connectivity between the electrical harnessing ecosystem and other company tools and systems. You will support the design, manufacturing and installation teams with automation and design improvement initiatives in order to improve quality, increase rate and reduce cost. Qualifications: B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field 7+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry Experience with CAD and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD) 5+ years of experience coding in Python 5+ years of experience working creating complex tools and automation logic (definition of business rules) Experience working with Web base interfaces. Experience working with complex and large databases Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4 Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Experience with CREO Schematics and/or Piping. Experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes. Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems.
