Some of what you'll be doing:

As an Aviation Receiving Dock Operations Specialist, you will monitor concourse and satellite load dock operations and oversee shipping and delivery of goods and materials at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

• You will conduct operations inspections such as monitoring and reporting compactor, grease tank, and glass container functionality, and provide standard operational information to vendors, contractors, and airport personnel.

• You will oversee shipping and receiving for airport and airline tenants, contractors, and Port of Seattle operations, including delivering shipments to various Port office locations throughout the airport.

• You will provide load dock operational/safety training for customers and vendors.

• You will coordinate, record, and store unique deliveries, and scan and maintain files for packing slips, delivery logs, and receiving sheets.

• You will evaluate business operations and processes and identify areas where technical solutions would improve operational efficiencies.

• You will coordinate with airport contractors to coordinate logistics, schedule, and communications regarding extended parking and access during operational impacts to load dock access and delivery routes.

• You will provide feedback on the design for new, renovated, and redesigned load dock areas throughout SEA.

Who you are:

• Experienced – You have one (1) year of experience in load dock, shipping, and receiving.

• Certifications/Licenses – You possess a forklift certification.

What else you need to know:

• Driver’s License – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.

• Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.

• Work Environment – You will work in a warehouse/loading dock environment.

• Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

• Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.

• Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
