Job Description

NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week in order to be considered for this position.

We don't just sell cutting-edge fashion and accessories, we create it.  Our talented fashion design team — the Nordstrom Product Group — develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels. From traditional to trendy, this team is shaping the styles and looks our customer love.

As the Associate Product Merchandiser, you will influence and execute Merchandise Strategies and present product lines to deliver product performance results across Nordstrom.

A day in the life…

  • Build seasonal and monthly product strategies/line plans that identify growth/maintain/decline opportunities for a specific brand/category.

  • Deliver product performance results based on strategic goals and budget expectations

  • Partner with suppliers & cross-functional teams to create product/packaging based on customer demand.

  • Manage pre- and post-buy milestones with cross-functional partners, suppliers & leaders.

  • Merchandise and present product line to partners that align with customer needs and product strategy, while demonstrating in season agility.

  • Conduct seasonal competitive analysis including recommending updates of brand price bands

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (internal and external) to achieve brand expectations

  • Drive consistent competitive analysis to inform current and future business opportunities

  • Influence and mentor assistants/cross functional teams

You own this if you have…

  • 5+ years of retail buying, merchandising or planning experience

  • Experience in influencing and executing against merchandise strategies

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply market intelligence

  • Understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom

  • Fluency in MS Windows and Office suite

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000 - $155,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
