At Salesforce, our Product Marketers are storytellers first. We make the complex, simple. Our stories are human, easy to relate to and we take pride in sharing a narrative born out of our customers' success and grounded in an understanding of our products & features. We measure our success by our ability to develop creative and innovative marketing strategies that gain the mindshare of our key buyers and users.

This is a fast-paced role on the Platform Product Marketing team focused on developers and IT buyers. The best candidates will be highly collaborative individuals and initiative takers.

In this role you will be the voice of the product working closely with your counterparts in product management while enjoying ownership and responsibility for a wide variety of creative activities that drive awareness, understanding, and growth across internal and external audiences. You’ll build product positioning, go to market programs, campaigns, events, content, demos and sales enablement programs.

Here’s some of what you will do:

  • Work collaboratively with product management leaders to develop positioning and messaging for Developer Experience initiatives. You'll distill key functionality and benefits into core product marketing stories, and create technical narratives along key product themes.

  • Own the positioning for Developer Experience products across all channels - internal and external.

  • Be the go-to-person and developer product expert within the Platform Product Marketing team intelligently and effectively articulating and demoing the product value proposition.

  • Track the competitive landscape, understand target markets, and identify market insights to inform product strategies and go-to-market activities.

  • Launch new products and features to customers, taking products from pilot to general availability. You will collaborate and motivate cross-functional teams (including, sales, product & marketing) to support your delivery of world-class product marketing.

  • Create high quality content such as demos, webinars, videos, blogs and slides. We value presentation skills alongside story telling.

  • Collaborate with campaigns and distribution teams to support sales enablement, demand generation spanning events, campaigns, social media programs, references and case studies, and press and analyst relations.

  • Know the developer mindset and be a passionate evangelist -- both internally and externally -- on the benefits of developer tooling, especially in the context of low-code app development and process automation on the Salesforce Customer 360 Platform.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Passion for developer tooling, distributed systems, cloud computing and Platform as a Service (PaaS). You consider yourself to be “technical” and have a deep curiosity to learn new things. Use of developer tooling (VS Code etc.) is preferred but not required.

  • Strong collaboration, analytical, critical thinking, and business strategy skills.

  • Ability to engage with and earn the respect of both deeply technical developers, product, IT and business leaders.

  • 5+ years experience in product marketing at an enterprise software or platform company.

  • This role requires a combination of technical acumen coupled with the ability to communicate the technical elements in a simple, effective manner. You must be a great writer.

  • Creative thinker that can generate innovative marketing ideas and lead a cross-functional team of stakeholders to drive execution.

  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to develop creative and compelling customer-facing presentations.

  • Proven track record in performing well in a fast-paced environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively.

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, Computer Science or Engineering background helpful and MBA a plus, but not required.

  • A great, winning attitude that can inspire optimism and fun.
