DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Frontline Fundraising (75%)

• Plan and implement the College’s Corporate and Foundation Relations fundraising program, in collaboration with the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward foundations and corporations capable of making gifts and grants to the College. • Identify and manage a core portfolio of 50-75 foundation and corporate partners and implement cultivation/solicitation strategies for each Top 25 foundation/corporate partner. Report regularly on this portfolio to the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. • Participate cooperatively in the University’s prospect management and tracking system. Utilize UW prospect management database to track and manage the portfolio. • Work with academic leaders and faculty to prepare proposals and development materials to best match interests and requirements of foundations, corporations and family foundations. • Provide responsive and well-informed advice regarding corporate and foundation funding sources and solicitation strategies to faculty, colleagues and volunteers. • Publicize funding opportunities with corporations and foundations to College faculty, Dean, and appropriate staff. Cultivation and stewardship efforts will be designed to strengthen institutional relationships as well as ensure adherence to gift and grant guidelines and reporting requirements. • Work proactively and collaboratively with the University’s central Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations to ensure that corporate and foundation Request for Proposals (RFP) are handled effectively and efficiently. • Travel to foundation and corporate offices to represent the College for the purpose of identifying new prospects, presenting proposals and/or stewarding existing relationships. Coordinate the visits of other Advancement staff, the Dean, Divisional Deans, Associate Dean for Research, Directors, and other faculty members by determining and making appropriate appointments, developing itineraries, goals, and preparing briefing materials. • Identify, recruit and staff volunteers to assist with cultivation and solicitation.

Program Development and Management (25%)

• Work closely with the Dean’s office, faculty and program staff to ensure foundation and corporate activities are implemented professionally and lead to desired outcomes. • Assist Advancement leadership in developing an annual plan, including goals, objectives and strategies. • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to department chairs, faculty and administrators in designing and implementing strategies and advancement programs needed to sustain and increase corporate and foundation support. • Understand and help address compliance issues related to corporate and foundation relations, including conflict of interest, classification of gifts and grants, and gift policy, and work with others to ensure Corporate and Foundation Relations adheres to all relevant regulations, policies and procedures. • Maintain a strong understanding of the basic research efforts in the College and develop relationships with academic leaders. Use this information to match foundation and corporate interests with these research areas in support of College and department priorities. • As appropriate, coordinate advancement activity with the Assistant Vice President for Corporate and Foundations Relations and the central Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations. • As appropriate, work in partnership with Gift Services and Donor Services to aid in the implementation of the University Gift Acceptance Policy, including communicating to staff, faculty and donors gift vs grant navigation. • Plan and implement foundation and corporate visits, both on and off-campus. With support from the CFR Program Manager, prepare itineraries and briefing materials for guests, faculty, CAS program staff and others. • Work proactively and collaboratively with faculty and program staff to ensure that corporate and foundation Requests for Proposals (RFP) are handled appropriately including sharing information, writing, editing, and budget development. • Work closely with faculty, program staff and the College’s Stewardship team to ensure timely and high-quality stewardship, including reporting, recognition events and publications. • In consultation with the Executive Director, establish personal goals, objectives, and strategies. Participate in assessing progress toward goals. Prepare annual operating plan. • Represent the College at university, community and professional functions as appropriate. • Mentor members of the College’s Corporate and Foundation Relations team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in Advancement/Development or related field. Equivalent combination of comparable knowledge and skills may substitute for education and/or experience.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint and PowerPoint for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms, project management, etc. • Demonstrated ability to establish, cultivate and steward strong relationships with donors and Friends to build and maintain strong partnerships and trust with while aligning the donor’s mission and goals with the institution. • Ability to develop fundraising strategies and plans that integrate into the organization’s mission, priorities and goals both independently and collaboratively within a team. • Works to resolve conflicts and differences through dialog and open communication in a timely manner. Sees every difference as an opportunity for growth and change. • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with foundation and corporate community, both nationally and regionally. • Experience working effectively with academic leadership, faculty and other executive-level positions. • Knowledge of development/advancement principles.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice. • Frequent local travel expected • Must have regular and reliable transportation for local travel and willing to travel when necessary.
