KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Functional Practice Operations to join our Business Tax Services organization.
Responsibilities:
Take accountability for optimizing and standardizing all aspects of the tax practice including functions and resources responsible for processing, billing, Project Management Office (PMO), go-to-market, Engagement Setup Administrators (ESA's), and resource management
Oversee one business process support team (ESA); manage the workload of team, prepare and deliver performance reviews, develop training plans as needed based on performance, and encourage professional development opportunities; provide collaborative opportunities for teaming
Make recommendations to leadership regarding strategic operational changes that can influence achievement of objectives; execute coordinated tactical action plans; participate on cross-functional national task forces and work streams as opportunities are presented
Apply a tactical focus, with one business process support team as direct reports such as ESA or other resources as appropriate; provide leadership on execution to infrastructure groups, and make recommendations for strategic vision of standardized processes for the Tax practice
Provide communications support, including but not limited to drafting emails, reports, memos, internal presentations; collaborate with the Tax Operations senior team supporting day-to-day operations management
Liaise directly with all levels of the organization, whether developing relationships with engagement teams throughout the organization or teaming with Business Unit and Service Line leaders, as well as Business Process Group (BPG) professionals
Qualifications:
Minimum seven years of recent experience in one or more business related areas including finance, human resources, resource management, or general business operations
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, business administration, finance, human resources, other related field, or sufficient work experience that demonstrates capabilities and prior knowledge
Prior experience as a direct supervisor for a staff consisting of different professional levels, as well as experience or involvement in the Tax Engagement Setup Process
Ability to work independently and provide guidance and strategic advice to executive level management across all practice operational areas
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and negotiating skills required
