You can G.R.O.W. with Us by becoming our Assistant General Manager ROLE Plans, directs, and evaluates operations of a waste collection subsidiary to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable service to customers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER Oversees operations and maintenance departments consistent with established operating plans, ensuring safe, efficient, effective and compliant operations. Assists General Manager in controlling operating costs to ensure maximum return to the Company within a reasonable rate structure. Develops and utilizes key metrics to analyze operations, reducing redundancies and streamlining company's operations where necessary. Ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements. Deals with employee representative regarding questions or disputes. Prepares or assists in preparing budgets and plans for equipment and staffing. Regularly reviews with full understanding the company's financial statements. Ensures Company provides ongoing positive customer service and maintains positive relationships with existing customer base, including but not limited to local agencies, city councils, etc. Abides by federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Understands and ensures compliance with safety & health, environmental, human resources, financial, and other applicable regulations and company policies. Represents Company in the business community and in regulatory matters to maintain good will and understanding of Company's waste management practices and financial requirements. Works closely with and supports company management and other departments on company initiatives. Provides leadership to employees and promotes positive employee morale. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Related management experience in waste, transportation or related field. Principles of personnel training, supervision and evaluation. Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting. Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and using data to inform and set priorities and identify challenges/opportunities. Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications and programs in position related area including detailed knowledge of varied procedures common to resource recovery industry and operations supervision. Current developments and trends in areas of expertise and highly technical knowledge of a variety of company services and procedures. Possession of a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid Driver's License. Skill and/or Ability to:
