The College of Arts & Sciences has an exciting opening for an Assistant Director for Development. This is a full-time permanent position.

This position will focus on increasing support for the University by developing prospective donor relationships and cultivating gifts. This role collaborates with Major Gift Officers and other frontline fundraisers to manage, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation donor prospects.

What You Will Do: Donor Prospecting and Frontline Fundraising (90%)

• Identify and cultivate new prospective donors; develop deep relationships to generate support for the College. • Build and sustain long-term partnerships and trust with donors, while aligning donor passion and goals with those of the College. • Manage a portfolio of prospects, develop engagement and fundraising strategies, and solicit gifts in collaboration with Major Gift Officers. • Work with Advancement teams across the University to conceptualize, develop and implement qualification and solicitation strategies. • Coordinate campaigns for strategic constituent groups, including donor prospects, alumni, and donors. • Prepare, review and edit all materials needed to secure and steward gifts, including marketing materials • Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping through UW’s donor database and ensure donors receive appropriate and timely acknowledgements for their gifts. • Represent the University at events or professional functions, as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned (10%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor’s degree AND three years of progressively responsible experience in advancement/development or a related field.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. What You Bring:

• Knowledge of alumni relations, development or advancement principles. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for correspondence, reporting, databases, forms, etc.

What You Can Expect:

• Cubicle/open workspace environment which may result in higher levels of noise and visual distractions. • Evening and weekend hours, as necessary.
