CE Tech is looking for an Applied Science Manager to lead a team of Applied Scientists and help our customers discover, evaluate and buy complex consumer electronic products like TVs, Laptops and Mobile Phones without needing to understand the technical jargon. Example help a customer buy the best TV that is compatible with Xbox without needing to research what latency/refresh rate/HDR/OLED means.Are you passionate about working on disruptive ideas and building innovative solutions? This is a unique opportunity for you to work with Big Data, ML, and other advanced techniques to provide the best customized experience for hundreds of millions of consumer electronics shoppers. This problem is challenging due to the scale (billions of products in the catalog), diversity of product specifications (metadata ranging from screen size to highly technical concepts like GPU) and multitude of input sources (multiple sellers) and languages, just to name a few.You will lead and grow a team of Applied Scientists to develop and deploy state of the art advanced ML and Deep Learning (DL) techniques, to extract semantic information from products as well as customer journeys. These models will power customer facing features like Upgrade Recommendation for SmartPhone shoppers who are ready for their next phone or Guiding Laptop shoppers (e.g. Gaming Laptop) via customer friendly questions and many others. You will work in a collaborative environment where you can experiment with massive data from the world's largest product catalog, work on challenging problems, quickly implement and deploy your algorithmic ideas at scale, understand whether they succeed via experiments across millions of customers.This role requires outstanding technical skills, a deep understanding of machine learning approaches, influencing and working effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver results, and a passion for melding ML with great user experience/design.Who are we?The Consumer Electronics retail organization's mission is to make Amazon the preferred destination for customers to discover and acquire all of their CE product and service needs.
