These include product demos, customer reviews, buying guides, and how-to guides that are created by influencers, sellers, brands, manufacturers, vendors, and customers. How do we choose the right videos to show to the right customers at the right time to help them make the right shopping decision? That's where you come in.As an Applied Scientist on this team, you will:Drive end-to-end Machine Learning projects that have a high degree of ambiguity, scale, complexity.Perform hands-on analysis and modeling of enormous data sets to develop insights that increase traffic monetization and merchandise sales, without compromising the shopper experience.Build machine learning models, perform proof-of-concept, experiment, optimize, and deploy your models into production; work closely with software engineers to assist in productionizing your ML models.Run A/B experiments, gather data, and perform statistical analysis.Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and serving.Research new and innovative machine learning approaches.Recruit Applied Scientists to the team and provide mentorship.Key job responsibilitiesUse statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable solutions for video analysis and content moderation problemsAnalyze and extract information from large amounts of videos to help moderate and optimize search across videosWork closely with software engineering teams to drive real-time model implementations and create new product featuresEstablish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementationPhD or equivalent Master's Degree plus 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML or related field2+ years of experience of building machine learning models for business applicationExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageExperience in building large-scale machine-learning models for online recommendation, ads ranking, personalization or search.Effective verbal and written communication skills with non-technical and technical audiences.Proven track record of delivering production-ready code with superior user experience.Pursuant to the Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.Workers in New York City who perform in-person work or interact with the public in the course of business must show proof they have been fully vaccinated against COVID or request and receive approval for a reasonable accommodation, including medical or religious accommodation.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
