Port of Seattle Airport Operations Development Manager – Landside Operations in Seattle, Washington

Some of what you'll be doing:

As an Airport Operations Development Manager – Landside Operations, you will be responsible for vision, guidance, coordination, and continuity of Landside projects for inception to completion. You will also maintain the airport's operational continuity by leading the facility planning, budget management, and oversight.

  • You will lead the planning and programming for Landside operational assets and infrastructure in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and airport interests.

  • You will coordinate Landside’s multimillion dollar capital program budget and construction activity.

  • You will draft Commission memos and other documents for senior management and executive leadership and advise on alternative analyses.

  • You will establish procurements for expense projects, service contracts and consultants for a study of Landside’s assets.

  • You will be responsible for managing consultants work to specific outcomes and milestones.

  • You will assist with the Commission authorization process and navigating the Port of Seattle delegation of authority thresholds.

  • You will evaluate, lead, and implement new technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • You will lead the management of the Landside internship program, establishing work programs and milestones for interns.

Who you are:

  • Experienced – You have four (4) years of airport/airline operations and/or project management experience.

  • Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Engineering, Business Administration, or Public Administration. We also hope you are an American Association of Airport Executives Certified Member and/or American Association of Airport Executives Accredited Airport Executive.

  • Project/Program Manager – You can use effective methods to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time and deal with expected and unexpected change. You have working knowledge of project management principles including budget development and project delivery.

  • Detail Oriented – You can assess and critically analyze proposed capital plans and concepts for impacts accurately and in a timely manner.

What else you need to know:

  • Driver’s License – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to respond during off shift hours to address any issues that could adversely impact Port operations.

  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.

  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
