This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will work to design, analyze, build, test, integrate, deliver, and operate fluids and propulsion subsystems on Lunar landers. Responsibilities: Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight as part of the Fluids and Propulsion Integrated Product Team (IPT) Use established professional expertise to understand and apply systems engineering fundamentals across the development cycle of systems including concept development, requirements, design, analysis, validation, integrations, safety, configuration management, verification, and test Integrate between fluids and propulsion subsystem and overall system level vehicle design, analysis, software, and operations Understand and manage key Technical Performance Metrics for the system Support the development and execution of component and subsystem analysis and tests Coordinate plans for subsystem level verification test and analysis Spearhead the organization and aid in preparation efforts for reviews Ensure timely updates and communication of system level architecture diagrams, schematics Creatively guide the team to balance the objectives of a high velocity development program while meeting the intent of standard system engineering processes Tackle the diverse range fluids propulsion design engineer tasks like leading trade studies, component design/integration, 1st order analysis, test support and supplier interface as the opportunities arise Mentor and educate junior Blue Origin employees on systems engineering processes and methods. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area 5+ years of proven experience in fluids, propulsion, and/or aerospace systems Experience with fluid/gas components i.e., solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels and instrumentation. Experience with systems engineering principles, design, and testing of complex systems Experience assessing mission-specific risks as a result of the status of hazard controls Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment Familiarity with agile planning and Scrum Proven ability to build processes necessar
