The Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies has an outstanding opportunity for a part time Administrative Assistant to join their team. Under direct supervision of the Program Operations Specialist, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to Program Co-Directors, Assistant Director and Administrator.
Responsibilities 20% - Calendar Management
Coordinate and schedule meals for CAIIS events.
Schedule meetings and book meeting rooms.10% - Maintain website updates.10% - Administer Indigenous Studies List.10% - Take meeting notes.20% - Create, reconcile, and maintain electronic files for credit card receipts.20% - Assist Administrator with processing payments.10% - Participate in scheduled events when necessary and/or perform other general duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements
High School/ GED AND two years of office or administrative support experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of and relationships with American Indian and Indigenous communities.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially demonstrated competence in composing correspondence, written reports and minutes, and copyediting for spelling and grammatical errors.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Google Workspace.
Experience working in an academic department.
